Karambenda (Fly Camp)
The fly camp is nestled among the Mopane trees in the heart of the Western region of the concession. It is a peaceful, comfortable and rustic retreat.
The camp has 3 tented chalets, raised on stilts with en suite bathrooms at the back of the tents. The Lodge area, as well as each chalet, look over the Karambenda waterhole. An oasis which is frequented by herds of Buffalo, Sable, Elephant and many other species.
The area surrounding the camp is a favourite for buffalo hunters, due to the availability of water and cover in the dry season.
The Fly camp is truly unique in that it is as if the surrounding wildlife does not acknowledge its existence. Lions and leopard are visitors to the camp, as well as Hyenas, whose laughs echo deep into the night.
You won't leave this camp on an eager note, it's easy to get used to.
